Signing Time for Everyone!

signs Signing Time for Everyone! Most new moms or dads have probably heard all of the benefits of signing to their children. I know I couldn’t help but see other moms using it, magazines promoting it, or books explaining it. Even many toys have integrated signs. Many children in preschool and kindergarten learn signs for ‘bathroom’ and ‘quiet’ as they help teachers and aides with the everyday classroom life while parents hope to promote early communication skills and avoid temper tantrums. In school and at home, signing can be a ton of fun. Many products may have come out to help teach children how to sign….but Signing Time! may be one of the best.

I’ve been watching Signing Time! with my oldest son. He loves the first season of DVDs and music CDs. This line of ASL products was created by two sisters, Rachel de Azevedo Coleman and Emilie de Azevedo Brown. Rachel’s daughter, Leah, was diagnosed as deaf at fourteen months old. In the videos, you and your child will learn signs through Rachel, Leah, and Emilie’s son, Alex. With cute and catchy songs, some animation and the two cousins, you will be hooked as will your children. I do mean hooked. You will find yourself singing “Signing Time with Alex and Leah” and using the signs. Even grandpas will find signing to be irresistible….I have proof!

In our house, where “Thomas” reigns, Alex and Leah have taken over. We’ve learned how sign so many great things including, ‘thirsty,’ ‘please,’ ‘more,’ and ‘thank you.’ Each sign is modeled by Rachel, Leah, Alex, and other preschoolers. It is so much easier to learn signing from Signing Time! videos than from books alone. In addition to the videos, music CDs, clothing, books, and flash cards are available. I really believe they would be great for 0-5 years olds at home or in classrooms. Be sure to visit Signing Time! Online. You can earn a 10% discount on regular priced items with the code ‘Favorite.’ Redeem your discount here.

We also use Signing Time! at our house and we love it. My 4 year old has a severe speech delay and Signing Time! has been our answer to the communication gap we have. She can tell us what she needs by signing and we understand her. Signing Time! is terrific and we love to invite Rachel, Alex and Leah into our home everyday. There are 3 new DVD’s coming out. Check out a sneak peek of them at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iipc_bbs6dY

My family loves Signing Time also!! I found this product about 4 years ago and have gotten almost my whole family (parents, siblings, cousins) hooked on it as well. I’m glad to see you have it here.

Wow, this is great! We love these videos and I love seeing the word get spread to other moms. I truly believe these videos can change a family’s life! Our youngest was born with a cleft palate and has speech and hearing issues, but communicating was a breeze thanks to Signing Time! As a bonus, my daughter knew all her letters – upper and lower – by sight and sign at 18 months old and now, at 4, can read at a first grade level. She started reading with the words from Signing Time!

Thank you for taking the time to review the Signing Time videos.
My family loves them. Signing Time has given our family the opportunity to learn a 2nd language together.
I noticed on the Signing Time Website that they have a Series 2 coming soon, the titles are: Nice to Meet You, Happy Birthday to You, and Move and Groove. I have pre – ordered mine, now I am waiting for the delivery man to bring them mid September.

I have a 7 year son, Isaac, with Apraxia and finding Signing Time has truely been a God send! The videos are so fun and easy to sign along with and I love the songs!
Isaac loves to gallop around the kitchen table signing “Go!” Stop! Go! Stop!
I can’t wait for Series 2 to get here.
