Like most toddlers, my daughter likes to watch the same show or DVD over and over again, often whining to try to get us to replay it.
Imagine harnessing all of that persistence and commitment for fulfilling your exercise goals! Mom and fitness trainer Allie has managed to do just that with her DVD, Get Fit Together!
Get Fit Together is a DVD which offers three programs, Cardio, Toning and Abs, or Cardio, Toning and Abs. All of the fitness programs are meant to be done with your child, either holding him or her, or with your child participating. The colorful cartoon background keeps their interest, while the exercises are very well explained for a novice. In addition, the exercises are shown by several moms, with varying degrees of difficulty. So, you can follow the easier version of an exercise until you’ve mastered it, and then move on to a harder version.
When we received the DVD, my daughter and I put it in. Immediately, she was drawn to the moms and children, and kept asking me to repeat their names (they all introduce themselves at the beginning). At first, she just watched the exercises, but towards the end of the workout, she started following what the kids on the DVD were doing. As soon as it was over, she shouted, “Again”! Of course, mom wasn’t ready to repeat a whole exercise tape, but I do appreciate the fact that she enjoys watching it and requested that I play it. It certainly keeps me honest in my exercising!

In regard to your DVD suggestions: have any of you guys heard of this new childrens DVD named Lots To Learn? I just recently purchased the fifth one and my kids love it! It kind of reminds me of a Sesame Street, Romper Room, educational sing-a-long and exercise for the new generation. Every episode teaches a new lesson in life such as Nature or Music and teaches kids the alphabet, counting, shapes, sounds and other fun stuff.
My kids and I like it a lot and would really recommend it if you have pre-school aged kids. found it on their website: http://www.LotsToLearn.com
