When I became a mom, I realized the need for some peaceful gentle music CDs in our home. Whether it is naptime, feeding time, or just time to wind down, peaceful music is so essential to setting the pace. For the adults in the house, however, it’s important that the peaceful music not be downright boring. We were recently sent a review copy of Melissa Errico’s new album Lullabies & Wildflowers, which is a nice blend of traditional and original songs.
Melissa’s voice, which is gentle but never boring, is perfect on such standards as Mockingbird and Someone to Watch Over Me. I especially enjoy the fact that this CD does not contain all “baby” lullabies, and is therefore appropriate for really any age, even mommies. The sound is peaceful, just like I want my house to be!
