We’ve just gotten over a major hurdle here at the Case de Chris. My big guy’s ear infections were not responding to the antibiotics the doctors were prescribing and it was clear we needed to do something else. Hence a trip to the hospital for tubes and an adenoidectomy and the resulting two days on the coach dozing and watching some favorite DVDs. Here are a few we’ve enjoyed:
Bob the Builder: Let’s Build the Beach
A new Bob the Builder DVD with five Bob episodes along with bonus episodes of Fifi and the Flowertots and Fireman Sam. Along with Lofty, Spud, and the old favorites, this DVD introduces Splasher and Bristle. Our favorite episode is “Lofty’s Comet,” as Lofty comes up with a song about the comet he’s going to see with the gang. You really can’t miss with any of the Bob the Builder DVDs, but this one is particularly fun, especially this time of year.
If you haven’t caught a Fireman Sam episode with your fire-engine loving child, you’re missing out. A series from the UK, Fireman Sam’s theme song sounds like a tune from a “hair band” from the 80′s. My husband and I just can’t get enough of it. The show takes place in a small town in Wales and follows Sam and his team as they fight fire, danger, and catastrophe to keep the townspeople safe. It’s fun and enjoyable and the only children’s show with a firefighter theme.
