We’re doing it again….a review of some of our favorite DVDS. You’ll be seeing that there are some great DVDs out that bring back memories for mom and dad and some fun new additions to our children’s favorites.

Garfield’s Fun Fest

garfielddvd1 August: DVDs to SeeGarfield was one of my favorites as a school child. I was so excited to see that a new DVD had been released for my own little ones to enjoy. In Garfield’s Fun Fest, Garfield competes for the title of funniest comic strip in Cartoon World, a title he’s won before. This time around, he has an opponent that just might beat him and we follow him along on the journey to discover how to become funny. It’s cute and gave me a fun trip down memory lane. You can find Garfield’s Fun Fest at Amazon.com August: DVDs to See.

The Care Bears: 25th Anniversary Care-A-Lot Collection

cbcare August: DVDs to SeeIf you are like me, you probably loved the Care Bears as a child.  Believe it or not, they are turning 25!  To celebrate, they’ve introduced this 2 DVD collection with 22 of the very best episodes.  My kids love watching them, and for me, it’s a total blast from the past.  You can find the 25th Anniversary Care-A-Lot collection at Amazon.com.

Strawberry Shortcake: Rockaberry Roll

shortcakerock1 August: DVDs to SeeStrawberry Shortcake was one of my favorites also, and I introduced her to my kids with this DVD.  It’s colorful, has fun music, and a great message.  When Strawberry Shortcake and her friends decide to form a band, they all have to learn a lesson of taking turns, accepting others, and not giving up.    You can find Rockaberry Roll at Amazon.com.

The Best of Barney

twentybarney August: DVDs to SeeMy youngest’s favorite purple dinosaur is 20. I know, I can hardly believe it myself. To celebrate his birthday, Lionsgate and Hit Entertainment are celebrating with The Best of Barney DVD. It’s a blast from the past with clips from episodes with Demi Lovato, from “Camp Rock,” and Selena Gomez, from “Wizards of Waverly Place.” This DVD will be available September 9 and you can purchase it at Amazon.com August: DVDs to See.

Bob the Builder ON SITE: Houses & Playgrounds

bobplayground August: DVDs to SeeOne of our favorites, Bob the Builder ON SITE: Roads & Bridges, has Bob showing us how roads and bridges are built with clips from real construction sites. The newest addition to this series has Bob building house and playgrounds. My son is learning all about his favorite subject with his favorite character. I have to admit that there is definitely something about watching construction vehicles that also keeps my husband’s and my attention. This DVD is currently available at Amazon.com August: DVDs to See.

Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery

thomasdiscovery August: DVDs to SeeThis is the first title narrated by Pierce Brosnan and includes some of our favorite engines, including Duncan, Gordon, Emily, and James. You’ll meet a new engine, Stanley, and a new town, Waterton. I think Pierce Brosnan does a great job of narrating, but I was a fan of Remington Steele. icon smile August: DVDs to See You’ll find The Great Discovery out on DVD on September 9 and can pre-order at Amazon.com August: DVDs to See.

Halloween Spooktacular: Hit Favorites
