Green Bags Made From Recycled Water Bottles

By now, most people have heard of the environmental issues created from plastic water bottles.  They are generally made from petroleum, and never decompose entirely.  Just thinking back to my own life, I can only imagine how many of those bottles I myself have gone through without recycling (especially before recycling was offered with curbside trash pickup).

A company, Act2GreenSmart, has introduced a line of bags produced with 100% certified post-consumer PET bottles.  The fabric produced from these bottles is amazingly resilient, and it’s hard to even imagine what it was originally produced from!

Act2GreenSmart sent over two bags for me to try and test out.  First is the shoulder bag in the pretty storm blue color.  The shoulder bag is surprisingly roomy – I’m able to even throw in a few diapers, a wipes pouch, as well as my iPhone, wallet, camera, and Flip video.  It’s a great handbag alternative, especially for quick trips out with a little one.  Even better – it was produced with 10 16 oz bottles!

The second bag is a tote bag in the olive color.  It’s great as a diaper bag, or to tote toys, art supplies, and other fun stuff to Grandma’s house.  The interior of the bag has some nice organization, and the size (12” x 11” x 7”) is perfect!
