My kids, especially my two-year old son, are obsessed with Thomas and Friends. I’m amazed that a two-year old boy can actually remember the names of all of the trains, since so many of them look alike. Yesterday, thanks to Mom Select, we were able to see the stage musical, Thomas & Friends Live on Stage – A Circus Comes to Town.
The only shows that my kids have seen recently are Disney on Ice shows, so I wasn’t sure how they would react to a stage show at an actual theater. Our seats were located in the balcony, on the front row, which made it much easier for the little ones to see. They were restless before the show, (we got there early), but were absolutely mesmerized during the show. Some of my son’s favorites were featured, including Thomas, Percy, Gordon, James, Harold, and of course, Sir Topam Hatt, and as each one came out, he said their name.
The show is fairly interactive, and all of the kids around us were really into it. Even my daughter, who’s more into princesses than trains, had a blast. There are songs, a storyline, and of course, lots of trains! The show lasts about an hour and a half, including a 15 minute intermission, and I think it’s the perfect length. Any longer, and I think my son would have gotten restless.
