I was going to go with Pop Rocks & Pepsi (because risking your life for that combo was such a rush! tee-hee) but they made a comeback, so I’ll go with…

… the Corvette Stingray. Still can’t look at one without imagining how cool I would have been if I had driven one. Or…if I was actually old enough to drive!

Such fun and great memories.

I was still really young in the 70s but the memories I do have are ones of great freedom. The ability to get up in the morning during the summer and taking off all day playing. My parents didn’t worry. The neighborhood looked out for everyone’s kids. We ran all over the neighborhood and someone’s parent always fed everyone lunch and kept an eye on them. It was great!

I remember leaving the house in the summer in the morning, coming in for lunch and dinner and not coming back in until the porch light went on. We spent our time playing kick the can, baseball, football. It was a great childhood. My kids have no idea how it was before Nintendo and Nickelodeon. I was very lucky.

My favorite thing about the 70′s was riding my bike all over the countryside and not coming home till dinner. We had a blast and I have so many memories from playing with my friends. My best friend lived 4 miles from me, no problem when I was young, we would meet in the middle than ride for hours. It was also Shawn Cassidy lovin’ time. I can remember the crazy outfits my parents wore before heading out to the disco. Bell bottom jeans, the bigger the better, if they didn’t make you trip and fall down then they were not big enough. What I wouldn’t give to go back to the 70′s, I loved it.

The one thing I remember the most was my dad was running a skating rink and I got to go that summer with him every night and I learned to skate and a older man came every Friday night and his wife didn’t skate so he taught me to dance on skates. Thats my best memory and I think that Splish, Splash, I was taking a Bath came out around then.

354 melissa April 29, 2009 at 10:48 pm

My favorite thing was the clothes. Everyone was so determined to be who they were, had their own style, and had their own sense of indivduality. People’s clothes were their freedom of speech. The whole generation’s style was of self-expression. It was so good that now people continue to bring it back.
