For work-at-home moms and dads, our office, whether it is a dedicated room or space or a spot on the couch, can be the hardest to organize and keep contained. We want organization tools that are attractive, useful, and aren’t too hard to use. We want tools that are efficient but help us to get to work rather than spend endless amounts of time on the organization process itself.
The [IN]PLACE™ System by Peter Walsh products are the tools I was looking for but didn’t know could exist. There are a number of products available and can be used for a variety of work and home situations. Every product in the line is meant to be reusable and, from my experience, quite durable. They are made from a clear material that will go with any decorating scheme. With an erasable pen, Post-It notes, and binder clips, you can label and re-label folders or files. My obsessive self loves that I can easily move my tabs on files so that they always line up correctly in the filing cabinet.
Peter Walsh recommends that you set up your office like the dashboard of a
car. Everything that you use frequently should be within reach from your desk chair. With this line, he offers the products that will better help you to set up your work area. The Desktop Sorter and Magazine File are great pieces that can help jumpstart your desktop organizing. They will keep your file folders and envelopes within reaching distance.
If your work is mobile, you can keep your important papers safe and secure with the Expanding File, File Tote, Document Wallet and Rolling Case File. I have been using my File Tote to keep all of my bill paying supplies, like calculator, files, and checkbook while my Document Wallet is used for my son’s medical files as we travel to see specialists.
