As you probably know, we’re always on the look out for products that help us care for our home and keep to our pledge to get ‘green’ along the way. Recently we were introduced to some great products from Scotch-Brite that are made from recycled and natural materials. Not only do they help us to do the job, but they are affordable too.
As we move away from our use of paper towels, we are loving the Scotch- Brite Greener Clean sponges. There are a few options available that can be used for a variety messes. For our grill, the Scotch-Brite Greener Clean Soap Loaded Scrubber is perfect. I think it’s great that one 12 oz plastic bottle is used to make six scrubbers. Each scrubber is already loaded with biodegradable soap, making scrubbing a little easier. For our regular dishes and pans, we’ve been using the Biodegradable Absorbent Sponges and Expanding Soft Sponges. They are both made from 100% natural materials and are tough enough for our family’s use. I really love the space that the expanding sponges save in storage, too.
My favorite of all has been the Natural Bamboo Cloths. Not only can they be
used in place of those paper towels, the bamboo cloths are made from 100% natural materials, can be washed in the washing machine, and are super useful for spills and dusting. I feel like I’m doing something for our Earth whenever I reach for the cloth over our roll of paper towels. Not only am I saving on waste but also on the price of purchasing paper towels over and over again.

Interesting…..these haven’t hit the stores in NJ yet. I crochet my own out of 100% cotton but sometimes it’s nice to have a regular sponge for messy jobs. Thanks for the post I’ll keep my eye out!
