My kids, especially my son, have pretty pale skin, and neither of them like me putting sunscreen on them. I get concerned when they play out in the sprinklers at preschool, because I’m not there to make sure that they are fully protected with sunscreen. So, I was excited to have the chance to try out UV Skinz, a brand of clothing that provides protection from the sun’s damaging rays without chemicals.
UV Skinz are available in baby sizes, kids’ sizes, and adult sizes. My kids each have a set of the Kid Skinz, which offer sun protection of 50+ UPF (which blocks out over 98% of the sun’s rays). While the UV Skinz look to be warm, they wick moisture away from the body and are actually nice and cool. They come in fun colors for kids (which is a good thing because my daughter won’t wear anything that isn’t pink). With no raised seams, the material is comfortable, and much more of my kids’ skin is protected from the sun. UV Skinz are especially good for long days on vacation or at the beach, because having sun protection in the clothing means you’ll need to apply less sunscreen throughout the day.
