Let’s Talk Laundry

Completethecycle Logo For Use On Blogs Lets Talk LaundryBefore we head out on a long weekend, I’m doing three loads of clothes today – which reminds me of how much I hate doing laundry.

I love the smell of fresh washed clothes, and using a towel right out of the dryer feels like total luxury.  But, I hate the disappointment of spotting a stain that hasn’t come out, or seeing a shirt or pants come out completely wrinkled.

Here’s a laundry guide from Clorox – right away I realized I was doing something wrong.  I actually let the stain remover dry on the clothes, but this guide recommends that you don’t let it dry…. hmmmm….

It also suggests you remove clothes from the dryer when they are still a bit wet, and then hang them to avoid wrinkles.  Oops.  I thought drying them to the point of being completely dry was better.

So, take a look at the guide – maybe you’ll discover something you didn’t know.  Leave a comment if you’ve learned something new!

Clorox sponsored me to write this post – but all of the thoughts are mine.

I like this organizing tip: Let the kids help with the laundry. They can empty hampers, sort, look for stains and fold and put away laundry.
Not sure on the folding and putting away, but emptying the hamper and looking for stains would be a start.

I have never heard of filling the laundry tub with water and detergent before adding the clothes….hmmmm… I also have never had luck w/ made for the task pre-treaters probably for the same reason of letting them dry? I always just use Dawn and hot water asap.

Oooh….I didn’t realize that you weren’t supposed to iron with little circles. That’s good to know. I hate ironing but when I do it, I always like to go crazy with the steam.

I use Dawn a lot too. I find it’s best for oil and salad dressing type stains. But I do love Oxyclean also. My son recently had a nose bleed all over his brand new bedding, and Oxyclean was the only thing that got the blood out.
