I’m a big fan of big band music. As a high school student, I was just as likely to be listening to Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin as U2 or Pearl Jam (oops…just dated myself). It’s funny how I somehow let the genius that is Michael Bublé pass me by. I had friends who enjoyed his music and I had caught those Starbucks ads but it just never really went through to me that I might just like him.
Luckily for me, I was offered a wonderful opportunity to review the DVD portion of his latest release. While a live recording may not always be the best way to discover a ‘new to you’ artist, Michael Bublé shines on the stage and his music is suited for a live audience. Michael Bublé Meets Madison Square Garden comes with a CD and DVD with his performance from a December 2008 concert. His rendition of ‘Home’ gave me the chills and as you can imagine, I’ve got a new favorite artist to listen to!

I love everything you have to say about Michael. I was fortunate enough to be in the audience the night the DVD was made as well as at Patsy’s that afternoon, so this whole set is like a wonderful souvenir of my trip to New York.
One thing I must correct: Michael’s three original songs are “Home” “Everything” and “Lost.”
Although you can hardly recognize his version of “Feeling Good” from the original, it was written by Anthony Newley for “The Smell of Greaspaint” musical back in the early ’60s. My main reason for the correction is that Lost” is one of my favorite songs.
I do what I can to further the knowledge of Michael to the world and it always thrills me to read an account like yours of a new fan. Welcome to the world of Buble. Music will never be the same.
I’m a big Buble and have purchased the DVD, totally worth every cent. Was at my friends restaurant last night and she was playing his music all nite .. it sets a great atmosphere.
