Week 1: Active Life: Extreme Challenge

by Jodi on August 16, 2009

Last week, I received the Active Life: Extreme Challenge game from Bandai Namco games to experience and write about.  Bandai Namco previously released Active Life: Outdoor Challenge – a game I hadn’t played, but had definitely heard of.

Have you ever set up a fun looking video game with eager kids, aged 3 & 4 looking on?  I couldn’t get the package opened fast enough, and certainly couldn’t stop to read directions!   After everything was set up, including the game board (which connects via a long cord to the Wii console), we were ready to play.

Active Life: Extreme Challenge offers a variety of active games to play, with a series of different levels.  Of course, we started out at the easy level (the only option until you unlock more).  My husband and I started playing against each other, but my kids quickly wanted to get in the act.  They are definitely on the young side, but had no problem playing the double dutch game or the base jumping game.

Once they started playing, we couldn’t get them to stop.  Since I have a boy and a girl, they especially enjoyed pairing off in teams – boys (my husband and son) versus girls (me and my daughter).  The boys have the lead in play so far – but I’m convinced we girls can pull into the lead next week!
