I have been a fan of the Harry Potter books from early on in the series. With each release, I would find every bit of time I could to dedicate to the next installment of Harry’s life. It’s amazing how those books were able to take me away from whatever was happening in my life into the world of Hogwarts. I just can’t believe that it has been ten years since Harry entered my life. In those years, I graduated from college, grad school, married, had two sons and moved more than six times. Soon enough my husband and I will be reading the books to our sons and letting the stories pull them in.
This contest is now over. Congratulations to Joseph, Tamara B., Miranda Allen, Christina Sparks, and Benita G. We are so excited to offer our readers an opportunity to introduce their children into the world of Harry Potter with a set of the first three books in the series including Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Please leave a comment below and we’ll enter you into the giveaway. We’ll be selecting five random winners. One entry per person. US Residents only. No PO Boxes please. Contest ends September 14, 2009 at 11:59 ET.
Here’s a bit more about the contest from our partner, Scholastic:

I missed out on the whole Harry Potter mania when it first came out and so did my daughter. She’s 13 now and neither of us have seen a movie or read one of the books. Everyone says we’re missing out. It’s time we joined in on the Potter parade and what better way to start then right at the beginning with the first 3 books.

I can’t wait to share the wondrous Harry Potter series with my kids. ^_^
I love Harry Potter and enjoy all the different stories that I and my children have followed these past few years. We have kinda grown up with Harry, Hermione, Ron and the other kids in the book and movies. It is nice to read about someone who has enjoyed the books as much as myself.

I am an avid reader yet for some reason I have not read any of the Harry Potter books. Maybe this is the chance to do it! Following the story of J.K. Rowling’s life has been interesting.
My son loves the Harry Potter movies and is turning 10 soon so he is about the right age to begin reading the books. Thank you for the giveaway.
I would love to share Harry Potter with my kids!
We have actually worn out our original copies of these books. Would love a fresh set for daughter who is just getting old enough to read them on her own.
We’ve got big Harry Potter fans in this house. My son borrows audio books from the library and listens to them for hours (he’s read the books too). Hubby and my oldest daughter have read all the books also, but we don’t own them yet.
My son Looooves Harry potter, this would be great!!!
thanks for the great giveaway
I’m embarrassed to admit that I never read any of the books in the Harry Potter series. But, I’d love to read them now, and then share them with my high school students, and donate them to the classroom library.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read any of these books yet — I don’t feel so out of the loop anymore! Thanks for the chance to win the set to correct this deficiency in my popular culture education.
Then of course I can pass them on to my nephew, who hasn’t read them either (though he has a much better excuse – he only learned to read last year!).
My daughter who used to hate to read, fell in love with the Twilight series and read all of those and now is reading the Harry Potter books, I would love to win this for her!
I think my daughter would love to read the story. She has watched the movies already but I think the story would be great for her to read.

I loved the Harry Potter books and I would love to be able to give these to my cousin I know she would love them as much as I did.
I stubbornly held out because I truly thought the books would be more for children than for adults. Finally a co-worker brought in her copies and basically dared me to read the first one. I was hooked. I read the entire series in less than two weeks and the only reason it took me that long was because I still had other things I had to do (like work and cook dinner, oh and laundry occasionally).
I would love to have my own copies so I could read them again at my leisure.
Thank you for the AWESOME GIVEAWAY.. Please count me in
my step son is reading these now…he would really love these!
