Washing the Washer

If you have a relatively new washing machine, you’ll probably wonder why in the world you need to wash your washing machine.  I, unfortunately know all too well what a smelly washer smells like, as I have a washer of indeterminate age that came with the house.  It’s a basic machine, not a front loader, or he, or any of those other fancy things (sigh – mourning the loss of my gorgeous he front loader that I sold with my old house), and it started to smell mildewy and gross.  The idea of something that stinks being responsible for washing my clothes was kind of nasty, so I was happy to receive a pitch from Smelly Washer, a product that claims to clean your washing machine.

Smelly Washer is a powder that comes in a bottle with enough product for a full year.  Using it is relatively easy.  I opted to soak the product overnight, but I’d recommend that you check out this blog post to figure out the best usage for you.  I’m impressed with how well it worked – the mildew smell was completely gone!
