Taking the Temperature of a Sleeping Baby

by Jodi on September 21, 2009

We’ve all been there – a sick baby, who happens to be sleeping.  Doctors recommend that we monitor baby’s fever – because a spike in temperature often requires a hospital visit for little ones.  We all know not to wake a sleeping baby, but in the past, that’s something we had to do in order to take your baby’s temperature.  I remember those days of having a sick baby – it’s so difficult to get a good temperature reading, because ear thermometers aren’t accurate with infants, and rectal temps are so hard to take.

With the Temple Touch Thermometer, you can take your baby’s temperature right from his/her forehead.  Instead of waking baby with a painful (for mom and baby) rectal temperature reading, you can allow your baby to sleep while painlessly taking the temperature.  The Temple Touch Thermometer works really well, and takes the temperature in a few minutes. It’s a great baby shower gift, or gift for a new mom.

I think these are great! We bought the ear thermometer and it’s hard to get positioned correctly. It gives a different reading every time. But with the Temple Touch it’s fool proof!

It would be wonderful to have an easy way to take temperatures! Especially since cold season has already started around here. Thanks for the chance!

I can imagine how handy that would be. We always used the ear ones. I didnt realise that they weren’t that accurate. oops.

I too didn’t know that the ear thermometers aren’t accurate. Nice to know there’s a Temple Touch Thermometer out there.
