If you’re a mom, chances are that you don’t feel like you meet all of your goals for all facets of your life.I know I sure don’t. I’d love to devote more time to my own health and well being but I also worry about my boys and whether they get enough time with mommy. Now I’m a stay at home mom with help two days a week and my oldest son attends preschool 5 half days a week. I feel like I should have time for everything but I don’t really know how to make it happen. I really can’t imagine what moms that work outside of the home do about ‘me time.’ As part of my reading tour of great self-help books (you can read more here and here), I’ve been reading The Balanced Mom by Bria Simpson.
From setting priorities for your life to simplifying the holiday hoopla, Simpson provides insights into the new “Super Mom” and helps us all to figure out what’s the most important things in our life and how to cherish and honor them. Whether you’re a mom that craves time to get a haircut or a mom that dreams of studying photography or another language, you’ll find yourself thinking of ways to make it all happen. I love the open ended questions and the way they got me working out a solution that fits my family’s needs. The tips offered are very practical but not always easy for busy moms to come up with on their own. From ditching gossip to make time for your real priorities or working quiet time into your children’s schedule for mutual benefits, The Balanced Mom helps mom to get rid of the guilt and find ways to make time for themselves.

This has now moved to my to-be-read pile of books. I so need this. Thank you for the thoughtful review!
I was blessed to have had the help of my mom and grandmother, with me being a young mom and wife. When I felt I could not balance it all (school, work, being a wife, community involvment) they where there to help me pick up the peaces.
Not every body have such a support system.
It’s great to have books like “The Balanced Mom” around.
This sounds like a book I would enjoy. I’ll have to add it to my list of must reads!
