The Rhythm and Reading of Looking Like Me

Looking Like Me thumb The Rhythm and Reading of Looking Like Me In our home, reading is king. The boys have developed a great love of reading. They love to read everything…catalogs, DVD cases, magazines, and all sorts of books. Occasionally a book will come along that has more of an effect on them than others. Looking Like Me is one such book.

With a rhythm that my oldest son just loves and illustrations made up of colorful collages, Looking Like Me is a very unique book. The main character is looking at all of the roles that make up who he is and giving fist bumps to the people in his life. We love the cadence and we love giving out fist bumps.  My oldest son could read this book a few hundred times all in a row without stopping. Pairing Looking Like Me with collage art projects would be a great idea as is starting a conversation about all of the roles we fill in our lives. Are they a daughter, son, artist, singer, writer, athlete, grandchild? The possibilities are almost endless.

Looking Like Me would be a great holiday gift and is available at Amazon.com The Rhythm and Reading of Looking Like Me.
