If you’re in the middle of holiday shopping (or just starting, like me), you may want to look at some great DVDs that are out for your little guys and girls. We love to use DVDs to stick out of the top of stockings and are always on the look out for something the boys and our nieces will like. Here’s some recent releases:
For the slapstick lovers out there – Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death – We loved this fun mystery and the boys couldn’t stop laughing.
For preschoolers and Barney lovers – Barney & Friends: We Love Our Family – We love using videos as a starting off for talks about important topics. This one led to a wonderful conversation about families, an especially pertinent topic at this time of year.
For the ‘girly’ girls – Strawberry Shortcake: Happily Ever After,
Berry Big Journeys, & Sky’s the Limit – As little girls, my sister and I love Strawberry Shortcake. Although she’s gone through some changes, there’s a whole new generation of little girls ready to meet her.
Sets for the Preschooler Set – Building Crew Holiday Collection has three Bob the Builder DVD favorites (Digging for Treasure, Snowed Under: The Bobblesberg Winter Games, Bob’s White Christmas). Sodor Friends Holiday Collection includes Races, Rescues, & Runaways and Other Thomas Adventures, Thomas and the Toy Workshop, and Thomas’ Snowy Surprise & Other Adventures. Barney also has a boxed set. The Tee-riffic Holiday Collection also has three DVDs, including Winter Wonderland, Can You Sing that Song? and Night Before Christmas.
For Thomas fans – Holiday Express is a collection of holiday stories
featuring Thomas, Henry, Emily, and Percy. We love watching Thomas in the snow and the boys love starting the holiday celebrations with their favorite episodes.
More Preschool Favorites – Frosty Friends includes episodes from some of our preschoolers’ favorite shows including Thomas, Bob the Builder, Barney & Friends, Kipper, and Pingu. We’ve enjoyed watching them all play in the snow.
For fans of pirates – The Secret of Pirate Island was a big hit with my sons. They love all things pirate related and they also love building with Playmobil sets. This is an interactive experience and there are 27 different story combinations available.
You can purchase all of these DVDs at your favorite local mass retailer or at Amazon.com.
*We received complimentary copies of all of these DVDs for review.*
