The Pregnancy Pact on Lifetime

Pregnancy Pact Vert The Pregnancy Pact on LifetimeAs a Massachusetts resident, I am all too familiar with the Pregnancy Pact stories that came out of Gloucester High School back in 2008.  And while the actual, true reason for all of the teen pregnancies is not known to the public, it did bring to light some important issues.  At the mall last week, I saw ads for the new Lifetime Movie “The Pregnancy Pact” and I wondered how a movie could really portray a real-life story where the main characters aren’t exactly talking about the real story.

Coincidentally, Lifetime contacted me this week to review an early screener of the movie.  Turns out, while it’s based on the real-life events, it includes fictional characters and a fictional storyline.  The movie features Thora Birch of American Pie as video blogger Sidney Bloom, who returns to her hometown of Gloucester to get to the bottom of the spike in teen pregnancies.  It’s definitely entertaining, and it’s something you could watch with your older children.  It provides good basis for discussion on the teen pregnancy issue.

The Pregnancy Pact is debuting on Lifetime on Saturday, January 23rd at 9pm ET and 8pm CT.

Disclosure: Lifetime provided me with a screener at no cost.
