Souper You Debut: Progresso Light & 100 Calorie Soups

by Jodi on January 25, 2010

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for a brand-new you?  This New Year, Progresso Light and 100 Calorie Soups will grant three grand prize winners a trip  for two to New York City from May 21st-23rd. The prize includes roundtrip airfare, a two-night stay in a NYC hotel, a full makeover, a $1,000 wardrobe shopping spree and personal consultation at a New York department store.  To enter, visit www.Progresso.com/SouperYou, submit a 200 character or less essay, and send a photo of yourself. You can also visit the Web site to download a coupon for $1 off any three varieties of Progresso Soup.

I had the chance to try out a few flavors of the Progresso Light and 100 Calorie Soups.  I generally like chicken soups in a can, and these were no exception.  While they are low-calorie, I’m pleased to say that I didn’t notice an obvious “light” taste or feel to them.  The one issue I do have, however, is the serving size – the 100 calories is for half of a can, which I can’t imagine actually being a meal.  But I still feel it’s a good low-cal food, even if I do eat the whole can, because it’s pretty filling.

WIN IT!  Do you want to win a Progresso Souper You kit, with two cans of soup, an electronic jump rope, and a Progresso soup bowl?  Leave a comment below with what you are doing to create a Souper You, and you’ll be entered.  Contest is for US Residents only and ends at 11:59pm on 1/25.

Disclosure: free soup, gift pack, information, and giveaway were provided by Progresso through MyBlogSpark.

Every since the new year began, I’ve been eating low-salt soup minus the bazillion crackers I used to love for lunch several times a week, and running on the treadmill AS SOON AS I GET UP because if I put it off even to do one thing, it won’t get done. So far, so good…

I’m working out 5 to 6 times a week and eating more fruit and veggies. My body is thanking me for it. I feel so much better!

I’ve been trying to be more active with my kids and coming up with more physical games for us to play inside. The trampoline was really handy! Progresso soups taste great, but the portion size is a bit silly.

My family is trying to be more active together. We are going out sledding, and playing with the kids more. Anything to get off the couch and moving around. It’s a good workout walking back up that hill. I’m trying to look “souper” good.

I saw my doctor right after the new year and she instructed me to drastically adapt my lifestyle. So I’m eating healthier, cutting out soft drinks, gave up wine, and am counting my steps with a pedometer. All on the way to a Soup-Er ME!!!!!

Hubby and I have been reducing our portions and trying to walk more. Years ago, my parents bought an exercise bike-type thing and after a few months, they didn’t use it any more. We just brought it home, and as soon as we get it cleaned up (it was in the carport, which is populated by cats, the occasional raccoon or possum, and more bugs that you can imagine), we’re going to make a real effort to use it.

I am getting a medical checkup from head to toe. Tomorrow I do my stress test and next week is the mammogram. I feel all women should take the time to make sure their bodies are in working order. We always give so much of ourselves so we need to make sure we are in the best shape possible.

Thanks so much!
