FiberOne 90 Calorie Bars – An Easy Snack on the Go

by Jodi on February 8, 2010

I LOVE the regular Fiber One bars. Seriously, they taste like candy and are absolutely delicious. So, when I heard about the new 90 calorie chewy bars from General Mills, I was a little nervous that they’d sacrificed taste for the lower calories.

When I received them, the first thing I noticed is that the 90 calorie bars are a bit smaller than the other bars – but not too much smaller. The consistency is a bit different – there’s more crispy rice and the bars are less dense. However, they still taste great. I love having them in my purse as a healthy snack on the go. While they won’t replace my regular Fiber One bars, they are a great complement.

Win it! Want to win a gift pack from Fiber One and My Blog Spark? It includes a box of the 90 calorie bars. To win, leave a comment with your favorite weight loss tip. Contest ends 2/20 at 11:59pm and is for US Residents only. Contest is over, congrats to winner DeeAnn.

Disclosure: The Fiber One 90 Calorie Chewy Bars, gift pack, information and additional gift pack to give away were all given to me from Fiber One through MyBlogSpark.

I like the Fiber One bars too. I hadn’t heard about the 90 calorie versions yet. What a great idea. I’d like to enter to win. My weight loss tip that works for me is to eat small meals throughout the day to ward off hunger.

My favorite weight loss tip is to always be prepared. The times when I pig out are generally when I didn’t plan a meal in advance or have the pantry stocked with healthy goodies. If I know that I have X number of healthy dinners planned and have all of the ingredients, I will make all of those meals. If I have healthy treats in the cabin, I will eat them. It’s when I don’t plan in advance that I make poor choices.

I never skip breakfast even if it is a piece of whole grain toast with peanut butter. I also eat several small meals throughout the day and eat my servings of fresh fruit and vegetables. When I get craving for something sweet I have an orange or some strawberries and I always drink my water.

I am currently pregnant and I believe eating smaller portions about six times a day is a great tip! I always snack on nuts, vegetables and fruits.

Do your workout as soon as possible in the day, as motivation and time seems to slip away as the day progresses.

My tip is: If I feel like eating something naughty, I pop a piece of chewing gum into my mouth and that chases the ugly beasties away. I’ve been doing this for years and it really helps me. Also, a glass of water works. Plus I’m hydrating myself. Thanks.

My best diet tip is to not deprive yourself, but to eat just a bite of something you want. I lost over 60 pounds a few years ago and still ate pizza, chocolate, etc.

I have a garden and am replacing my water thirsty lawn with lots of fruit trees, and in the summer fresh, home grown veggies. Between the exercise in taking care of the garden (and remodeling it), and all the fresh and healthy produce, I’m losing!

Drink a glass of water before every meal. It will help you get all the water you are supposed to be drinking and fill you up some so you dont eat as much.

My weight loss tip is to snack on carrots and/or celery throughout the day or any type of negative calorie foods. This really helps when you are hungry, and drinking eight glasses of water helps keep you full too.

My favorite weight loss tip is to workout immediately when you get up in the morning. If you wait, something always gets in the way. Also, if you work out first thing, you’re more prone to exerting good care in the food choices you make the rest of the day.

My tip is to keep a food diary or log of what you eat and drink throughout the day. I do so much better staying on track this way. I find that I make healthier choices and also consume far less calories when I am logging what I eat.
