You may have already seen the limited edition retro cereal boxes at Target – from Honey Nut Cheerios, Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Trix. I did a double-take the first time I saw them on the store shelf, because they were so reminiscent of my childhood.

my favorite atari games were pong and breakout.
my sister and I continue to fight (25 plus years later) over the musical Sugar Bear ornament that came in a box of Super Sugar Crisp. We actually have a schedule as to who gets to have it on their family’s Christmas trees- our kids think we’re nuts!!!
1. My favorite cereal box prize was a little stuffed animal. It was cute and could fit in my pocket I could take it anywhere!
My favorite prize was a decoder that I could use to unscramble puzzles on the back of the box.

My favorite Atari game was Space Invaders! I actually flipped it!
My fav. prize was a color changing spoon lol We used to fight over them!
My three grandchildren “fight” over the 2 color-changing spoons I have had for about 15 years. Does anyone have a clue where I could find a third one? The oldest grandchild is 17, the second is 13 and the third is 10 1/2. I have Nala and Simba… Somebody please help Grandmother!!!
My favorite prize was a colorful stuffed bee

I used to love the marshmallow pieces in Lucky Charms cereal. When my brother wasn’t looking I used to eat all the pieces in his bowl. He was too young to understand what was happening!
I like the new boxes better because they are brighter and more fun looking!
That would have to be way back when we used to get Matchbox cars. They were the cheaper version of them but they were still cool!
today’s entry- my favorite Atari game is Sam and Max2
I remember always sorting out my Lucky Charms when I was little. I would save the marshmallows until the end. When pregnant I had a Lucky Charms craving at one point and this technique switched – strange
I think my favorite Atari game was Pacman.
I like the new boxes versus the retro boxes simply because I think my two year old would ask me what’s wrong with the bee if we purchased the retro box of Honey Nut Cherrios! LOL
Question 1: What was your favorite cereal box prize?
Answer: I’ll be 50yrs next month so memories of them are long ago but I remember that in trix we got these rubber little figures that were of differant ones from the cartoon Rocky & Bullwinkle (loved that cartoon) and they had painted eyes and came in like 3-4 colors like red blue & I think green, problem was there were 3 of us girls so you fought over who got the toy that time until a next box of cereal was bought, so our youngest sister usually won it , thanks my grandson now loves lucky charms

Question 4: Share a favorite childhood memory related to cereal?
Answer: My grandmaw use to work at our elementary school and she just lived right up the road from it and she would tell us what would be for lunch dessert and usually on fridays it would be rice crispy squares or peanut butter bars made from cherrios so at lunch time we look forward to getting those handed to us by grandmaw and after school we walked on to her house because she left the school after lunch to go home and we would walk to her house in the pretty warm days to wait for mom to come get us from work and sometimes grandmaw brought leftovers home from school that were not served because they could not reserve or save them for school so grandmaw would send anytreats left over to our house for us too, boy those were the days.Because we were a family who only got treats or sweets very seldom unless it was fruits canned or used from the garden we grew so we really look forward to fridays when we got to enjoy those goodies.

I like the retro boxes better. It brings back memories.
My fav. cereal growing up was always lucky charms
I like the new boxes better because of the nutritional information on the new boxes.
Fave Atari game would have to be Frogger!
I like the old boxes better. They have a homespun feeling and look to them.
My fav childhood memory was making pink rice crispy treats with my mom
My favorite cereal memory is having rice krispies with sliced banana when I would sleep at my grandparents house. Now I give my kids the same thing, in the same kitchen. Pretty cool!
I don’t remember a distinct favorite. My brother and I liked any prize that came out of a cereal box. We were pretty much happy to get a special surprise no matter what it was.
