Mommy has a Kindle reader (1st gen, but still very functional), an iPad, and an iPhone, so of course mini-me also wants some fabulous technology for herself. VTech contacted me to review their new V.Reader, available exclusively at Target through August.
The V.Reader is meant for ages 3-7, which means that it’s appropriate for both of my kids. I found that my son (who’s now 4) can use it for primarily easy activities, my 5-year old daughter gets a lot more out of it. With touch-screen technology, sounds, interaction, and storytelling, it definitely keeps her entertained and busy for long spurts of time. I have even witnessed the two of them playing with it together, with my daughter talking my son through how it works.
Cartridges are available for a suggested retail price of $19.99 and, parents can connect the V.Reader to their computer (both PC and Mac) to obtain free downloads of games, themes, and avatars.

love the interactive stories and soon-to-be downloadable stories. this reader will definitely make it fun for my daughter while learning how to read.

My favorite feature is the selection of books you can get. I mainly like that it improves reading skills with word recognition, vocabulary and phonics building.

The selection of cartridges is my favorite feature. I love that they are offering classics like The Little Engine that Could.
