50th Anniversary of the Etch-A-Sketch

by Jodi on August 22, 2010

Can you believe that the Etch-A-Sketch, a toy that I played with as a child (and that is still relevant today), is turning 50 this year?  I remember spending hours just sitting there, trying to create the perfect design, and then shaking it up to start over again.

I received an Etch-A-Sketch for review, and was immediately amazed how drawn to it my kids were.  They both can’t get enough of creating their very own designs, and since it’s easily portable, quiet, and doesn’t require batteries, it’s the perfect travel toy.

Do you have great memories of the Etch-A-Sketch?  Can you believe it’s now 50?

Disclosure: I received a traditional Etch-A-Sketch and Red Robin coupon for this review, and will get getting a Glow Etch-A-Sketch after the review posts.
