Classical Rock Symphonies for Today’s Generations

by Jodi on August 25, 2010

I’m a total sucker for rock operas and symphonies, being both a fan of classical music and rock music.  So I can’t stop playing David Garrett’s new CD – Rock Symphonies, where the classically trained violinist reinvents hits such as Smells Like Teen Spirit and Walk This Way.  The CD is all-instrumental compositions with just a bit of vocals, but it still packs quite a punch.  I like to use it as background music for working or cleaning up – it’s not distracting, but is still entertaining.

I enjoy the entire CD, but my personal favorite is Vivaldi vs. Vertigo, where the U2 song is played in a battled with Vivaldi – it’s truly amazing!
