As a mom, I find that my nails are always a mess. It’s hard for me to spend the time to actually apply nail polish, and then once I do, the polish chips or peels about 10 seconds after I apply it. As a result, my nails are almost always short and unpolished. It’s actually pretty embarrassing for someone who is so obsessed with cosmetics and beauty.
I’ve been watching the latest nail polish trends with curiosity – most of them seem to look a lot more complicated than they actually are. Would Bari Cosmetics’ Year of the Dragon Manicure actually be easy to apply? I received the nail polish duo, and set out to create my own perfect manicure.
The Year of the Dragon Manicure comes with a gold polish and a red crackle polish. After a quick base coat, I added a coat of the gold. Although you could easily put two coats on, I found that one was enough. Then, once that’s dry, I applied the red. The crackling happens automatically, and because of the already messy nature of the crackle, you don’t have to do a perfect application. I then applied a top coat and was thrilled with the result (pictured here).
My nails are still short, but at least they are stylishly short!
