For some people, their New Year’s Resolutions from 2013 will probably look a lot like their resolutions from 2012. That is somewhat true for me – I have a few new resolutions, but still have a few oldies but goodies on here. Here’s what I’m working on for 2012:
Prioritize Health and Fitness (and mean it)
The (and mean it) refers to the fact that I *may* have had this on my list a few years in a row. I’m trying again, and have actually started working on it over the last few months. This year, I’m hoping to lose some weight, and to continue working out on a consistent schedule. I’m really enjoying tennis lessons and plan to start with group lessons along with my private lessons.
Be More Present with my Family
It’s easy to get caught up with my computer and iPhone, but this year I’m going to be more conscious of how I use them when I’m with my family.
I’ve been so busy that social events tend to be the first thing I back out of. But I’m really missing being social, and want to work on socializing more.
I made a major mistake this past year in overcommiting in work and in my daily life. This year, I’m going to use the word “no” more. Overly complicated blog campaigns with multiple tweets and Facebook posts required are generally not worth the money, so I’m definitely passing on those in the future.
Be Grateful for Everything
I try to end my evenings thinking of everything I have to be grateful for, and have forgotten a bit in recent weeks. This is a habit I want to continue – it’s just a great way to end each night.
Plan Healthy Meals
This is a big one – and you’ll be reading more about it on this blog. My husband and I shared dinner duty, but he’s working more so now it’s all my responsibility. This year, the kids’ activities have cut into dinner time, so we’ve done a lot of quick meals and takeout, but I’m committing to preparing in advance for dinner each night.
Learn New Skills
I already took a web design class and have signed up for Photoshop, Illustrator, and photography classes this year. I want to learn new skills that will help me both personally and in business.
What are your resolutions?
