A Family Vacation to the Cayman Islands

Seven Mile Beach Earlier this summer, my daughter and I got to experience the ultimate mom and daughter getaway – four nights in the beautiful island of Grand Cayman.   I’ve been to island destinations before, but there’s something about the Cayman Islands that makes me already homesick to return.   The water is warm, the beach is beautiful, the people are friendly, the food is fabulous, and the activities are fun.   Four nights simply were not enough.

We stayed at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa located right on Seven Mile Beach.   The location was absolutely perfect, and like most Westin Resorts, the bed and shower were “heavenly”.   We visited lots of fabulous activities, including the Cayman Turtle Farm, Stingray City, the Blue Iguana Recovery Program, and Rum Point.  My daughter also had the opportunity to participate in one of the Ambassador of the Environment Programs at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman

Cayman Turtle Farm

Of everything we did, our favorite was the Cayman Turtle Farm, where we held turtles, saw giant sea turtles, and swam in the lagoon.   But, we really enjoyed everything, including our relaxing afternoon in Rum Point.   I really hope to be able to return to the Cayman Islands at some point with my whole family – I could easily see spending a full week there!

  1. We rented a house out by Rum Point a couple of years ago – makes for a very low key and easy family vacation (also cheaper than a hotel). Rum Point, off season, is super chill and great for families b/c there are facilities! We def want to go back!
