When we shop for back to school supplies for my kids, I try to focus on both function and style. After all, a backpack needs to survive a whole school year of pulling, tossing, stretching, and throwing, plus exposure to all of the elements we get here in New England. Last year, I bought a nice backpack for my daughter that didn’t have water bottle pockets – something I didn’t even notice until I tried to tuck her reusable water bottle into the backpack. She went through the entire year with a bag that constantly got wet from the bottle.
Coleman, a brand I know and trust, has introduced a new line of backpacks specifically for elementary and middle school kids. The bags have lots of organization, and are great quality. The deluxe packs also include a pouch for a 15” laptop. I love that they are stylish yet completely functional – my daughter absolutely loves hers (we received the style pictured here).
