Keeping Baby Close

February 6th, 2007

When my son was born, he desperately wanted to be held all of the time.  I had a ring sling from my daughter, but at the newborn age, it required a cradle hold.  He really wanted to be held upright and close, however, I wasn’t sure there was a carrier that could really help me, especially with a newborn.  After doing some research online, I came across the picture shown here of the Hug a Bub wrap.

The Hug a Bub is a great wrap for beginners, because it is made of a narrow, stretchy cloth that is very easy to tie on. There are additional carries that you can do, beyond what is pictured here.  In addition, it is sold with a DVD that explains all of the carries in great detail. The first time I used this wrap, I was amazed at how quickly my baby calmed right down and went to sleep.  I was able to get other things done too, and he was so secure.
