Potty Comparison - Part I

February 25th, 2007

There are so many different potty seats on the market - which one is the best?  I think it really depends upon your child and the stage of training.  I did some research and actually ended up purchasing three different potties.  I actually don’t have a favorite because all three of them have their pros and cons.  We will be reviewing in three stages, please head to the forums to discuss!

The first seat we tried is actually a toilet seat insert by Cushie Tushie.  I loved the concept of this, because it seemed to be a more natural way to potty train - having my child use the toilet which is actually what our ultimate goal is (the small potty, of course, is an interim step).  The problem with the insert is that a shorter child can’t necessarily reach on his or her own (even with a step stool).  Even with that, I still love the idea of this and love the fact that this is the cheapest option.  The best part however, is that there is virtually no clean up required, and this works well for travel (forum poster becdiddy has a great recommendation for a travel seat).  The Cushie Tushie can be purchased at Amazon.com.
