Although I did go to Walt Disney World quite a bit as a child, I feel ill prepared for the first time I take my children there.
It has changed so much, from additional parks (Animal Kingdom) to affordable and moderate priced resorts, and other areas, like Downtown Disney. Planning a trip takes lots of time and effort, especially in determining what resort you want to stay at and what restaurants you’ll want to dine in (some restaurants fill up 4-5 months in advance).
I recently received a Passporter, which is book that is so perfect for planning your Disney vacation. They have a deluxe version that actually comes in a leather-like binder, or a spiral bound version. This book contains all the phone numbers you will ever need, reviews on hotels, maps, tips on what types of rooms to request, an overview of each and every restaurant, an overview on each and every ride and attraction. I just love the fact that I am able to decide what rides are appropriate for my kids’ ages in advance of ever getting on a plane!
The Passport also comes in other editions for the Disney Cruise Line and Disneyland, as well as some more specialized editions like Walt Disney World for Special Needs. You can purchase a Passporter at http://www.passporter.com/.
