When my daughter started needing to wear shoes, I really struggled with finding the right shoes. Her feet were so tiny, but she was starting to walk and it was also winter. So, I needed shoes that protected her feet, were warm, and came in small sizes. I started at a local mall store, where they shrugged their shoulders and recommended I research online.
In an attempt to help readers “figure out” the soft soled baby shoe market, here is a comprehensive guide to the shoes we have direct experience with. If we’ve missed some of your favorites, please comment on the blog, in the forums, or send us an email.
Robeez - Robeez are the definitely the most common of the soft soled shoes. They are leather, come in some great designs, and are washable. These shoes help keep your baby’s feet warm and cozy!
Bobux - Bobux are similar to Robeez, but they come in different sizes, and actually fit my child better at certain times. They have some other great patterns, and are also nice and warm.
Cute Baby Shoes - Cute baby shoes are, as the name indicates, very cute! They are super soft leather, with padded soles, and the designs are extremely unique. These shoes haven’t been around for as long as the others, so the patterns aren’t as ubiquitous.
Wiggees - Wiggees are so great - they have a terry lining that wicks away moisture, and the larger sizes actually have a thin sole to protect those little feet. These are great shoes for a child that is starting to walk! We love all of the patterns, especially the sandals!
Isabooties - Isabooties come in great, beautiful colors, and are made of a great protective material. These are wonderful both for new walkers, crawlers, or even as slippers for established walkers.
See Kai Run - See Kai Run shoes are perfect for an early walker, as well as an established walker. These shoes are made of super soft leather, are nice and wide for toddler’s wider feet, and they come in a bunch of fabulous designs!
Preschoolians - Preschoolians were a savior when my child was in a size 2 1/2 shoe and walking! These shoes come in European sizes, and there are a bunch of options in patterns, and styles. There are three different distinct sole types depending on your child’s walking ability.
Bear Feet Shoes - Bear Feet Shoes are the gold standard of baby shoes! They are completely gorgeous, super comfortable for kids, and come in a variety of colors that are so beautiful! These shoes are so hard to find however, so grab them when you can!
Vincent Shoes - these shoes are great when your child is a more established walker! My daughter loves her Vincent Shoes, and I feel comfortable knowing that her feet are completely covered and safe!
All of these shoes can be found online, and we have reviewed most of them here - you can search for them in our search box.
