We have been watching a lot more DVDs recently - it’s one of the only ways to function with two little ones!  While I appreciate fun DVDs, I also try to throw in some fun DVDs that are also educational.  We recently received the introductory program of the Your Baby Can Read series, and it definitely kept my daughter’s attention.

Your Baby Can Read is a program that was developed by a professor/infant researcher named Dr. Titzer, who wanted to give his daughter an early start.  The full program includes five DVDs (we have the introductory DVD), five double sided sliding word and picture cards, and an erasable pen.  The double sided sliding word and picture cards were a big hit here - my daughter really enjoyed calling out the words and then opening the slider to see if she was right.

The DVD is entertaining as well as educational.  It also introduces the words from the picture cards, and shows with an arrow how the words are to be read, left to right.  For us, that was the first introduction as to how words are read.  I definitely know we will be watching this DVD and playing with the sliding cards lots more, and will most likely purchase more DVDs.
