Putting Ease into Preparing Fresh Baby Food

June 29th, 2007

With my first son, I had every intention of preparing fresh foods for him once we began solid foods. Unfortunately, I became overwhelmed with how to even start. When I finally attempted my preparation, I was discouraged by how unappealing and dry the food was. I quickly gave in to packaged baby food. This time around, I am committing to giving homemade fresh baby food another try. Thankfully, we’ve received a So Easy Baby Food Kit to help us with this endeavor. This comprehensive kit includes a cookbook, 2 freezer trays, a How To video, and Nutrition Card.

The kit really breaks it down and makes preparing baby food really simple. It evens help you to save time by offering tips on preparing many meals at once. Did you know that freshly prepared baby food can be stored for 2 months in your freezer. I didn’t! The Nutrition Card offers great information on which foods to avoid or that help when your baby is suffering from common ailments, like a runny nose or diaper rash. I found the DVD to be very helpful also. The cookbook has a ton of great tips, including how to introduce solid foods and how to foster healthy eating habits. For each food there is a page filled with recipes and information on which to age to introduce them. For example, the ‘pears’ page has three diffferent spice variations and six variations for medleys. I can’t wait to start introducing all of these fresh foods to my youngest.
