There are so many options in television shows for children. As parents, we strive to find the shows that will entertain and teach, inspire and motivate. Jill Luedtke, Kim Anton and Tracey Hornbuckle discovered a need for a television program that would inspire children to read and engender a love of reading. Out of this, WILBUR was born. Wilbur is a reading calf that along with barnyard buddies, Libby, Dasha, and Ray, have fun storybook adventures.

WILBUR meshes full-bodied puppets with animation and live action. Of course, there are the catchy tunes that you’ll find yourself singing to your kids…and alone. Each episode includes two storybooks and is part of Discovery Kids Channel’s commerical-free READY SET LEARN programming (commercial-free…you read that right…no advertisements for toys, snacks, or other unnecessary gear). My son loves the show and has fun moo-ving around when it’s time to read. WILBUR is perfect for preschoolers as it links reading with fun adventures in learning.

WILBUR is on at 11:00 AM (ET) on Discovery Kids and 7:30 AM (ET/PT) on TLC. New shows begin on the week of September 10.
