Carrying your little one close

September 17th, 2007

For my first little guy, I learned the art of babywearing with a structured carrier. Unfortunately, too quickly it became too much for my back and I had to give it up. Thankfully, I discovered slings and other carriers that allowed me to be close to my little one while allowing me to have my hands free. It became even more important for me to carry my youngest as I definitely needed my two hands (plus some). One of the carriers I’ve been using with my little monkey is a ring sling from Mama Marzipan. With my Mama Marzipan sling, I can wear my guy in style. It’s simple and beautiful.

If you are new to babywearing and unpadded ring slings, Mama Marzipan offers a nicely illustrated instruction booklet along with some great photos and steps on their website to a few different holds. My personal favorite is the hip hold. Once you practice a few times, the hold is very simple to use. I was even pleased to see that there were some troubleshooting tips offered in their instruction book. With a few adjustments and a little practice, the Mama Marzipan sling should be comfortable for any mom, dad, grandma, or grandpa.

Mama Marzipan slings are offered in many colors and feel very sturdy and safe. I definitely believe every new mom should be introduced to babywearing early. I wish I had an opportunity to practice before my first child was born. Be sure to check out Mama Marzipan for your ring sling needs at http://www.mamamarzipan.com/.
