As a mom, I’ve watched many different types of television programs created for children. Some of them are less annoying then others, I admit. There are just a few that really engage me and make me want to watch as much as my boys. One of these programs is Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies. I’ve always been fascinated with shows that combine the art of animation with real life video. Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies is the perfect combination. Mama Mirabelle (an elephant with the voice of Vanessa Williams) uses home videos of real animals to educate and help her animated baby animal friends. My son loves watching the different animals in their natural habitats as much if not more than I do. 

Since my oldest son isn’t allowed to watch television very often, he usually likes to stick with his favorites. With Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies, I like that he is both entertained and learning all about animals and some life lessons. Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies debuted in September and you can find it on PBS KIDS.
