Soccer is a big deal in my house. My 8-year old daughter has played since she was 4, and my 3-year old son is currently in his first season (which is honestly just insane - twenty 3-year olds playing soccer can only be described as complete chaos.) Riley, however, truly appreciates soccer and she and her teammates work hard and really love the sport. So she loved the movie Dare to Dream: The Story of the US Women’s Soccer Team. It inspired her to work hard and continue doing what she loves, and it was also a great lesson in self-confidence.

The story follows the US women’s soccer team across seventeen years, through all their triumphs and hard times. It really is an inspirational story and shows the value of sticking with what you believe in and working hard. My daughter is now convinced that she’s going to be a professional soccer player, which is fine with me!
