Toys Powered By Your Child’s Energy

October 25th, 2007

The amount of batteries I’ve purchased since I’ve had children is truly astounding.  It seems these days that just about every toy, every product we buy is powered by batteries.  While the low tech toys are great and lot of fun, my kids still do want the toys that light up and make fun noises.  SEE toys has just developed a line of toys that have all of the same fun sounds and lights, but are powered by your child’s energy!

SEE toys sent us a gray Dolphin to test out.  My kids both loved the unbreakable LED light and the fun dolphin sounds.  The SEE toy Dolphin is powered by a crank on the bottom - a few twists of the crank, and the dolphin is ready to light up and make some noises!  I think the crank is actually a bit of a novelty on this toy - the kids enjoyed watching how the crank powered the dolphin.  This toy is not only great for saving money on batteries, it’s also a good device to teach kids about conserving energy.  As a mom, this is a great toy to pack in a suitcase or travel pack for a trip, because you are assured that you won’t be needing batteries while you are away.

SEE Toys are available in a variety of styles, check them out at http://www.seetoys.com/.
