My first non-diaper bag in years

November 19th, 2007

My youngest child is officially potty trained and beyond the need of a change of clothes at all times-which means that I can finally retire my diaper bags. I have mixed feelings about this as I have several diaper bags that I’m rather attached to, but I decided that I needed a new bag that doesn’t have any association with diapers, just to celebrate the pass of my diaper/Pull-Up days. It’s nice to know that in the forseeable future, I won’t be wiping anyone else’s butt for the first time in nine years. That’s reason to celebrate, right?

So although I don’t need to carry diapers I still have some mommy needs-you know, snacks, Kleenex, Band-Aids, various small toys-those kinds of things. So obviously a small bag isn’t going to cut it. I tried out the Melissa Beth Designs Don’t Slouch bag and it is perfect! It holds all my stuff and still looks stylish and it hangs so beautifully-way more comfortably than any diaper bag I’ve owned. (Although she does sell diaper bags that are awesome, if you still need to fully pack for a trip to Target.) The Don’t Slouch is the perfect size for moms of toddlers because it isn’t too big or bulky but still manages to fit in all the excess gear. I think I need one in every color!

Melissa Beth Designs’ bags are very well-made and reasonably priced and the customer service is excellent. Check them out online at http://www.melissabeth.com/.
