First aid for the diaper bag and dog

December 5th, 2007

I’m one of those people who completely overloads my bag - I have stuff in there that I’ll never need. In fact, I don’t even know half of what’s in there. But one thing I keep in my bag at all times that I frequently pull out is my first aid kit. A lot of times it isn’t even for my own child, but for some other little boy or girl who has scraped a knee or gotten a splinter at the playground. As the mother of an accident-prone little girl and rough-and-tumble little boy, I couldn’t function without my handy band-aid and boo-boo stash - and my favorite new kit is by a company called Me4Kids that specializes in first aid care for families and pets.

The medibuddy kit, which fits perfectly inside even small diaper bags, has over 40 items, including the all-important stickers to heal the emotional pain. From stings to scrapes to burns, the medibuddy can handle any first aid emergency. It’s also perfect to stick in a backpack for hikes, the beach tote for ocean trips or any other time you might need a couple of band-aids or antibiotic ointment.

Since I love my pet almost as much as my kids (ok, probably equally - she’s a really sweet dog), I also appreciate the medibag 4 Pets kit that’s perfect for dog bumps and scrapes. It comes with a pet first aid guide, which is handy since I’m not exactly sure how to administer first aid to a dog, and I love the feeling that if something comes up with my pet I can handle it. This would also make the perfect present for pet-lovers - I’m getting one for my kid-less brother and his wife, who treat their little Pomeranian like she’s a goddess. They’re little-dog people and I’m a big-dog person (we have a Lab), so while we differ on the best type of dog, we do agree that they all deserve the best care, which makes the medibag 4 Pets a great gift.
