We love our travel playard (we have a Graco Pack N Play) and have always recommended them to Mom’s Favorite Stuff readers and to our friends!  They are extremely versatile, and can be used from the day you bring your baby home all the day to the toddler years.  Our Pack N Play has actually moved from our hallway (where it was a changing station), to our living room (where it was a travel crib), to our bedroom (where it’s now a true playard).  It’s green, so unfortunately, while it looked great in our living room, it now completely clashes in our bedroom.
