C-Section Scar Management Made Easier

January 14th, 2008

Until after I had my first c-section, I didn’t really understand the need for c-section scar management.  I just thought it was stitched up and eventually healed, leaving a thin red line as evidence of the surgery.  However, my doctor placed small strips of tape across the incision, and one of my nurses explained that the tape was to help the incision heal a little flatter.  After the tape starting peeling off, I never gave c-section scar management another thought.

Unfortunately, that is the case for many new moms.  We are simply too busy with our new baby to worry about how are scar will look when it heals.  Thanks to a two-time c-section mom with healthcare experience, C-Panty was born!  C-Panty applies scar management techniques  in a pair of underwear, so you can focus less on your scar and more on being a mom.

C-Panty uses both an incision area support panel and a thin layer of high quality silicone, to help your scar heal flatter.  The company recommends usage for moms whose wound has already healed, and according to them, its benefits can be felt for up to a year after a c-section.  I love the flattering fit, and the fact that it provides support without being too tight or uncomfortable.  C-Panty is a great idea for all c-section moms (and you should consider buying more than 1)!

You can read more info on C-Panty and purchase one of your own at http://www.cpanty.com/.  Their resources page provides some research about this topic that may be useful!
