I love navy blue. It’s a clean, crisp, preppy color that works for all four seasons. But it’s a bit tricky as a makeup color – wear it wrong and you’ll look like you have a black eye. So, I was a little apprehensive when I heard about Bobbi Brown’s new collection for summer, the Bobbi Brown Navy and Nude Collection. But I’m pleased to say that it’s a beautiful neutral collection that will work for just about everyone. The collection is just becoming available now – my local Nordstrom had some of the items, but my local Neimans hadn’t received it yet.
Review of the Bobbi Brown Navy & Nude Collection
The 2-level eye palette is the centerpiece of the collection, and includes eight different neutral colors – ivory, cement, blazing star, beige shimmer wash, twilight pink metallic, naked, slate, and rich navy. The colors are a nice combination of shimmer and flat, and can be used blended together or separately. I recommend using the navy as an eyeliner – it’s really tough to use as a eye shadow. Check out this video for an eyeliner tutorial if you aren’t sure how to apply shadow as an eyeliner.
The Bobbi Brown Navy & Nude Collection also includes a long-wearing cream eyeshadow in suede – a neutral brown. I love using Bobbi Brown’s cream shadow for an everyday look, and this color is so nice and neutral. There are also several new lip glosses, including the honey color pictured above. For checks, the line offers the Pink Brightening Brick Compact. It’s shimmery, but subtle, and great to just highlight the cheeks. Finally, there’s also a new navy nail polish – a great color for both manicures and pedicures.
Keep an eye out at your local Bobbi Brown counter, or online (you can currently find it online at Nordstrom). I have a feeling this line will sell out quickly!
