Children’s Claritin Teams Up With Madagascar

Note: it’s been brought to my attention that I was linked to a website and mentioned as a member of the Claritin Mom Squad.   I have no formal relationship to Claritin and have never hosted Claritin themed parties or “handed out drug samples to children”.   My thoughts below are my own and I really did find tremendous seasonal allergy relief from Claritin right when it was first introduced.   I’m closing comments because they are getting ugly (I do not allow the use of profanity on my blog) and are based on incorrect information.

As a child, I suffered from serious seasonal allergies.   Unfortunately, back then, there were very few medications available to treat the allergies I had, and I had to sleep with an air purifier right by my head in order to sleep through the night.   As soon as Claritin became available as a prescription medicine, my doctor prescribed it for me, and it worked wonders.   I still always keep some in my house, although my seasonal allergies have gotten better as I’ve aged.   My kids haven’t yet started experiencing seasonal allergy symptoms, but if they do, I’m glad that Claritin is available over the counter now.

This season, Claritin has some new, Madagascar-themed packaging for the new Madagascar 3 movie (which my kids are so excited about).   The packaging is available for the liquid and chewable caps (my preference, because they are so portable).   You can find them at any mass market or drug store.

Visit the Children’s Claritin website for more info.

Disclosure: I received a gift pack from Claritin but no compensation.

It’s sad to see drug companies now marketing their products to children like toys or junk food. Moms should stand up and say no. The focus needs to be on eating better and living healthy.

    • Can you decrease seasonal allergies through eating better? I’d love to hear how to do that – I suffer with pollen and have since a kid.
