There’s nothing that makes me more brand loyal than meeting the people behind a brand – and loving them. This year at BlogHer, I was so impressed with everything associated with partner-level sponsor Proctor & Gamble – from their pre-conference Life Well Lived event, to their booth, to the post BlogHer gift box.
Life Well Lived was a all-day pre-conference event that took place on the Thursday before BlogHer. It was open to all conference attendees (until it filled up), and offered some great content, including a keynote by Gretchen Rubin (author of the Happiness Project). Of course, there was some P&G specific content, but I found it to be informative, and the event was well attended. In addition, I visited the Bounty booth outside the conference rooms, where I learned about the Bounty-sponsored TeacherWishList.com, a site where teachers can sign up and create their classroom wish lists to make it easier for parents to find the items that are most needed for their classroom. Bounty is fulfilling the wishlist of ten teachers each week through the end of September. I just love the idea of this type of initiative.
During the actual BlogHer event, P&G hosted their Home Away from Home – an impressive booth set up to look like a house. Attendees who traveled through the booth and answered several questions were able to receive prize tickets and sign up for a gift box to be shipped to their home. This was a great idea, because most of us didn’t have room in our luggage for stuff, and getting the box a few weeks later was a fun surprise.
Through these events and actions, I really became more brand loyal to P&G. Every interaction with them was great – from the company’s employees to their PR team. They truly respect bloggers’ time and want to engage with the community.
And that, big companies, is how you do it!

Hats off to P & G!!
