Do you have rules for electronics on vacation? Since my kids are younger, I haven’t yet enforced any specific rules. My kids generally love to play with their LeapPad Explorer and MobiGo, although sometimes they try to snag my iPad, iPhone, or Amazon Kindle Fire. I don’t mind it so much when we are actually driving or flying, but I definitely don’t want them to bury their heads and miss our vacation.
For the evenings, I bring along old-school board games so that we can play games together. We have fun playing cards, Monopoly (Cars edition), and Uno. Once the kids are older, I know it’ll be more difficult to get them to play with us – I’m sure they’ll be way too interested in their own electronics.
Check out with video below from Traveling Mom’s Kim Orlando – here’s what happens when she bans electronics on her Aruba vacation! Then, join me for the Twitter party on Monday night – 9pm-10pm (#TMOM).
Disclosure: I’ll be compensated as a panelist at the Traveling Mom Twitter party.
